Rental Master

RENTAL MASTER PROGRAM

  1. PRIMARY COVERAGE
    Rental Equipment insurance is intended to cover the machinery, equipment and tools of contractors and others in their care, custody, control and issued in the performance of their trade or for the requirements of an individual.
    The insurance company will pay for direct physical loss of or damage to Covered Property from any Covered Cause of Loss. Various provisions in the policy restrict coverage. Read the entire policy carefully to determine what is and is not covered.
  2. UNDERWRITING RULES
    1. APPLICATION
      Application is to be completed online at a qualified Rental Dealers via the internet, and must include an electronic signature.
    2. DECLARATIONS
      To be issued electronically at the Rental Dealers and copies to:
      1. Insured
      2. Dealer
      3. Agent
      4. Company
    3. EQUIPMENT IDENTIFICATION
      The Declarations should include the following information so we can reasonably and positively identify the equipment:
      1. Value of each item
      2. Name of Manufacturer
      3. Model and Identification numbers
      4. Serial number (if applicable)
      5. Full descriptive information (i.e. fork lift, track type loader, excavator)
    4. LIMIT OF INSURANCE
      The Contractors Rental Equipment Coverage Form provides for loss settlement on an Agreed Value basis. The Limit may not exceed $100,000 per item.
    5. MAXIMUM RENTAL
      The maximum rental period is 30 days.
    6. EXTENDED RENTAL
      1. Provides extension of coverage in the event that the rented equipment is needed beyond the initial rental agreement term.
      2. If insured "opts out" of coverage under the initial lease agreement, they cannot "opt in" under an extension.
    7. POLICY FEE
      $5 applicable to all accounts
    8. CEASE BINDING GUIDELINES
      When a tropical storm, hurricane watch or warning or brush warning has been issued by the National Weather Service and outer bands of the storm are within 600 statute miles of your underwriting territory, NO INLAND MARINE COVERAGE, INCLUDING CONTRACTORS RENTAL EQUIPMENT COVERAGE, CAN BE BOUND OR ENDORSED. These provisions will remain in effect until 24 hours after the watch or warning has expired.
  3. SUBMIT FOR APPROVAL
    In addition to the terms of an agent’s binding authority, any risk with the following characteristics must be submitted to the Company for approval before coverage can be bound:
    1. Items valued excess of $100,000
    2. Any Loss whether paid or not, in the last two years
  4. PROHIBITED LIST
    1. Property for sale or on consignment
    2. In the course of manufacture
    3. Equipment designed for highway use
    4. Waterborne Coverage
    5. Underground Coverage
    6. Cranes
    7. Replacement Cost
    8. Blanket Coverage for small tools
    9. Insured rents or leases equipment to another party
