Trent Sommerville, Chairman of Concordis Group, today announces the completion of a letter of intent to acquire all of the outstanding stock of Advance Underwriting Manager, LLC (AUM). Sommerville stated, “This move corresponds with the strategy of Concordis to grow by acquisition and to add underwriting, marketing and operational experience and expertise to Concordis Insurance Company – Concordis is a Protected Cell Insurance Company located in The Grand Caymans. From its competitive position and with the addition of AUM, Concordis can offer enhanced and cost effective insurance products to organized groups of businesses in the USA.

The leaders of AUM are successful veterans in the insurance business. G. Lahrye Radford, CPCU, Chairman and CEO, formed AUM in 1994 to serve specialty niches in the property and Casualty insurance business. Previously Radford has been the chief underwriting and marketing officer for American Bankers and Acceleration National Insurance Company. Russell English, PhD, on the board of AUM, also has top management experience. He has been the Managing Director of SCOR UK, Trenwick and Albion Insurance Company, additionally had his own Syndicate on Lloyd. Both Radford and English will be appointed to the management board of Concordis.

Sommerville also said, "The addition AUM will offer Vertical Functional Integration for the insurance industry. In that AUM will provide costs savings and eliminate operational redundancies that are replete in the insurance business. AUM will provide all the policy processing, product development and accounting functions for Concordis. AUM also brings valuable industry relationships to the Group. AUM has agreements with Occidental Insurance Company of Raleigh, NC and Munich Re to provide specialty insurance products for the Rental Equipment and Equestrian industries.
